Standardized Testing

St. Scholastica Students are administered at least one standardized test during the school year. These are used for placement in appropriate classes, for curriculum needs, and for college admission purposes.

Incoming students are administered the IOWA Test for Basic Skills.
  • Incoming 8th graders take Level 13.
  • Incoming 9th graders take Level 14
8th graders are administered the IOWA Test for Basic Skills, Level 14 and the EXPLORE Test.
The Explore Test is an 8th grade version of the ACT assessment.
 
 
9th graders are administered the IOWA Test for Basic Skills, Level 15.
 
 
10th graders are administered the PLAN test. This is a 10th grade version of the ACT assessment.
They also take the PSAT test which is a preliminary SAT assessment.
 
 
11th graders are administered the PSAT test. In 11th grade this test is used to as a preliminary SAT assessment and for the National Merit Scholarship competition. 11th graders are also mandated to register and take the ACT and/or the SAT assessment at least once during the year.
 
 
12th graders are required to register and take the ACT and/or the SAT assessment for college admission purposes.
