Because our school is Christ-centered, the celebration of the Eucharist holds an important priority. All-school masses are held monthly in the gym for various feast days and special occasions including the liturgical seasons as well as holy days of obligation.  Parents will be notified of any Masses being celebrated as a school community so that they may plan to join us should their schedules allow.

 

 

In the Archdiocese of New Orleans, of which we are a part, Confirmation preparation and reception of this sacrament takes place in one’s own church parish. (Contacting your parish will provide you with all necessary information.) Sophomores are encouraged to contact their parish in January of Sophomore year to find out the specifics for Confirmation.

 

Students who have not been baptized or who wish to inquire about becoming a Catholic should see the Campus Minister for information concerning the process of preparation, also offered through various parishes.

 

The sacrament of Reconciliation is offered though parishes on regular basis. Students are encouraged to receive the graces of the sacrament of Reconciliation and to be open to the healing and strength it offers. It is, however, the student’s responsibility to become acquainted with their parish offering. The sacrament of reconciliation is offered occasionally at SSA.
